Millie
Millie is a capstone film developed over two semesters, centered around a 2D animated rubberhose style brought to life using Blender. Our team combined toon shaders with 2D post-production assets to create a unique visual blend of 2D and 3D animation. The project aims to revive the charm of classic rubberhose animation while pushing the boundaries of modern tools. Although the film embraces a 2D aesthetic, everything is entirely 3D animated using custom cloud rigs, allowing for flexible character movement while preserving the charm of traditional rubberhose animation. The story follows Millie on a whimsical adventure to rescue her beloved cow, blending nostalgia with innovation.
